Leadership & Learning
Each year, students, faculty and staff have the opportunity to nominate outstanding members who have contributed to the ODU community. We invite you to recognize fellow student leaders and advisors by submitting a nomination for the 2024 Student Engagement and Enrollment Services (SEES) Leadership Awards.
The Monarch Volunteer Program (MVP) is designed to give incoming ODU students the chance to move in early, meet their participating peers and upperclassmen site leaders, and engage in their new community by performing service in the Hampton Roads with their fellow Monarchs.
Live & engage with other students who have similar academic, professional, and/or co-curricular interests.
Alternative Spring Break is designed for students to engage in community service over ODU's Spring Break, positively impacting the Hampton Roads community and providing an educational experience about social issues.
The Office of Leadership & Learning supports the development of civically engaged leaders through living-learning communities, service-learning and civic engagement, and leadership development programs.
Students who participate in Leadership & Learning programs will:
- Develop a stronger sense of belonging and community at ODU
- Engage in self-reflection to better understand oneself and the world around them
- Develop key leadership competencies necessary for today's workforce and global citizenship
- Serve the local community through service-learning experiences, civic engagement, and application of the social change model of leadership development

The ODU Women’s Initiative Network Mentor Program was established by First Lady Emerita Kate Broderick and ODU Board of Visitors member Pamela Kirk to provide students with additional resources for their continued success.
